I saw this L'oreal HIP ad promoting their new Metallic eyeshadow duos collection featuring Kerry Washington. I was like I so need this in my velvet makeup bag. In the fine print it said "Kerry is wearing Gilded." I immediately began my quest to find Gilded so my peepers can be as pretty as Kerry's. I've always been a fan of L'oreal's HIP (high intensity pigments) shadows. Their like the poor man's MAC eyeshadows but half the price. I own like four of them, but I was craving Gilded. I tried several drugstores in my neighborhood to no avail, no one had the new collection yet. I was livid. I hate when companies advertise a product that hasn't made it to stores yet. It's just tacky and poor planning. Not to mention, gas prices... I really didn't want to drive all over the map for an eyeshadow. But I was persistent. I prayed to the beauty gods and it came to me. The Beverly Hills celebrity C-V-S (all the stars go there)....I bet they have it. Fifteen miles later, I pulled up at the drugstore and sure enough they had it. Oooh Aaahhh Ohhhh!!
The bronzy color looked like molten gold and the contrasting brown had flecks of gold that shimmered. The hunt was over and I gladly forked over $6.99 plus tax for my new eyeshadow. I rushed home and ripped open that annoying plastic wrapping. I gently swept the goldy hue across my almond shaped eyes then applied the brownish color in the crease. OMG the color is incredibly intense! It's the perfect day to night eyeshadow. My fellow fashionistas you have to add this to your collection. It looks just like it does in the picture maybe even better. I think I kinda look like Kerry Washington now, well maybe from afar and only when wearing Gilded. I absolutely love that e/s!! I saw it at Longs Drugs and almost passed it up, but good thing I turned back ;p The colors are so stunning, I'll probably end up getting more of them.
