OMG!! My fellow fashionistas we all know there's nothing more glorious than scoring free cosmetics. As part of a settlement of a class-action lawsuit, department stores nationwide are giving away $175 million in cosmetics to customers who purchased beauty products between May 29, 1994 and July 16, 2003. In the class-action lawsuit retailers and manufacturers are accused of price-fixing, a violation of the U.S Anti-trust laws. The Cosmetics Settlement site lists as possible freebies various cosmetic products from a host of manufacturers including Chanel, Christian Dior, Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, along with many other well known designer cosmetic products. "An affected class member could receive body lotion, perfume, mascara, shower gel or various creams." It's a sweet deal for cosmetics junkies such as myself, cause even if you don't need it right now you probably will in a few weeks--what the heck it's free!! Retailers such as Macy's, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale's will give customers up to $25 worth of cosmetics with no previous proof of purchase required. It's open season ladies, cause we all know we've spent a gazillion dollars on makeup etc in just one year alone, so this is like a beauty stimulus package. The free for all is going on until Monday (1/26) and it's first come first served, so expect to wait in line and be prepared to sign a statement saying you bought cosmetics at one of these stores between 1994-2003. (squealing like a girl) It's Free!! I plan on getting some new wrinkle preventing cream, what I need it-I have to be prepared! Please let me know what you guys end up with! (Additional Retailers include: Sak's Fifth Avenue, Dillard's, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Parisian, Bergner's, & Younkers)
